Hello! Where has this blog been? Well…. We had a week that was like a “vortex” because there was a hurricane that was coming, then it wasn’t, then it was… the city shut down. We drank a lot of cocktails, caught up with some old friends and our city was spared. Our neighbors to the North are still feeling the effects and we are praying for them.
HOWEVER~ we have got to get back into the swing of life. The swing of life means that BOTH boys are playing football (After Charlie’s injury this summer he was finally cleared). Lola has her new parts in the Nutcracker. For the rest of October & November~ I will be on a football field or at a dance studio. This is our second year of the football/nutcracker craziness so we have a better idea of what to expect and how to handle the chaos of 2 intense commitments. OH- we’re going to try and keep the ol’ grades up, the house clean, the dogs walked, and avoid the fact that I feel stressed already about the ever looming holidays that are in the back of my mind. 😉
SO- besides immersing myself in “FULL MOM MODE”….
I’ve been FINALLY… DRUM ROLL PLEASE…
Getting my AMAZON INFLUENCER page up~ and getting my Décor & Decluttering services up & running for all of you busy parents out there. I’m really proud of my amazon shop. The items are inspired by how I really decorate my haus; style that reflects my Southern upbringing. As parents we are always on the go. In our minds we want organized beautiful homes. Amazon offers an amazing selection at prices that aren’t going to make you dig into the kid’s college fund. Not to mention- HELLO! THEY SHIP IT RIGHT TO YOU! Obviously, I’d love to come and help you decorate, declutter and organize it all- you will then be able to DECOMPRESS. One less thing to stress about- right? Your haus is chic & kid friendly (it can happen! I promise)
So please check out my page and let me know if you have a suggestion amazon.com/shop/lizzluckhartdesigns
NOW, despite my outgoing personality, there is something I HATE doing. Networking. The thought of it makes me want to crawl in bed and just watch #bravotv. It feels forced and fake.
BUT- tomorrow night, there is a Spa/Wellness/Botox party at West Ashley Wellness Spa, an event at Hamby’s, and lastly an event at Tres Carmen Mt.P. I AM GOING TO GO TO ALL THREE! I’m not joking. I’m forcing myself out of my comfort zone. I need interaction with other women more often, and let’s be honest, networking over botox, Hamby’s and amazing outfits at Tres Carmen (SHOUT OUT Tres Carmen is going to be STYLED BY THE AMAZING ALEXANDRA MUNZEL)- so I’m going to do it. I’m not cooking dinner, running children here and there, checking homework etc- I’m doing something for ME! I’m going to be SOCIAL and let others know that I’d really like to decorate and declutter their homes😉
Tilling Tip of The Day~ I know that it is still 90 degrees here in Charleston- so I often suggestion using faux pumpkins for your Autumn/Halloween décor. Especially if you’re going to start decorating at the beginning of the month. We all know pumpkins will rot quickly- even if you don’t carve them. So start with the faux at first!
Teenager Tip of The Day~ Socializing! As I stated above I’m bad about socializing sometimes. Its also really important that our teenagers socialize…
"In 1987, 37.9% of incoming college students socialized at least 16 hours per week with friends while 18.1% spent five hours or less (see Figure 6). By 2014, 18% of students reported spending at least 16 hours per week socializing with friends (an all-time low) whereas 38.8% dedicated five hours per week or less to socializing (an all-time high)." - The American Freshman Study, 2014
